The ‘undetectable’ treatment gives patients who are against shaving their head the opportunity to restore their hairline in a minimally-invasive, effective way.
As the name suggests, the main difference between a normal FUE Hair Transplant Procedure (FUE) and an Unshaven FUE Procedure (U-FUE) is that you don’t have to shave your head, or any part of your hair, before the procedure. The hair transplant patient effectively keeps his hair long while having the hair transplant procedure, no shaving takes place. UFUE is hair transplant without shaving recipient area. As donor hair is extracted at full length, many patients can return to work the next day without anyone noticing they’ve undergone the treatment – unless they hold their hair back.
Once the hair is extracted, the strands of hair are cut off, leaving only the root to be implanted. As with the normal FUE procedure there will be some slight redness post procedure, however once the redness has gone down the existing longer hair can successfully hide any evidence of a transplant having taken place.
The new hairline will then naturally grow back gradually over the following 12 months. As the hair growth is gradual, people don’t tend to notice the change.
